Terms of Service

HolyWhisper is free to use and serves as a local, personal spiritual tracker. It does not sell subscriptions or show ads. You are responsible for keeping your own backups and passphrase material secure if you use the export options.

1. This agreement

These terms are between you and the developer of HolyWhisper (“we”, “us”). They apply to the HolyWhisper mobile app, this website, and the optional cloud synchronization service (together, the “Service”). By installing or using HolyWhisper, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms and explains how your data is handled.

2. What HolyWhisper is — and is not

HolyWhisper is a personal tool for recording prayer journal entries, highlights, bookmarks, and tracking reading plans.

HolyWhisper is not:

  • a provider of clinical, pastoral, medical, or mental health advice;
  • a replacement for professional therapy, pastoral care, or spiritual direction.

3. It is free

HolyWhisper is provided completely free of charge. There is no paid tier, no subscription, no advertising, and no locked features. We do not collect credit cards or billing details.

You get a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use the Service for your own personal and household spiritual tracking.

4. Accounts and Content

You do not need an account. Guest Mode keeps all data fully local on your device. If you choose to create an account for Cloud Sync, you must provide accurate info and keep your credentials confidential.

You own all rights to “Your Content” (journal entries, notes, highlights, and plans). We do not read, transmit, or claim any ownership of Your Content.

5. Scripture Text

HolyWhisper bundles various Bible translations for offline reading. These are included because they are in the public domain or under licenses permitting this usage. Translation availability is subject to change between app versions depending on licensing status.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purposes;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App;
  • attack, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Firebase sync backend.

We may terminate or suspend Cloud Sync accounts that violate these rules.

7. No warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Bible text/plans will be free of transcription errors.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for any loss of data arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Because HolyWhisper is supplied free of charge, our total liability is limited to the greater of zero and the minimum required by the law applicable to you.
